Over 20 states mandate dental professionals to infection control continuing education for each license renewal period. This session will assist you in refreshing, reviewing, and expanding your infection control knowledge for the dental setting.
Course Objectives:
At the completion of the session, participants will be able to
- List how infections are commonly spread in dental setting.
- Differentiate the role of the CDC, OSHA, NIOSH and OSAP to help ensure a safe work environment.
- Develop or update a written Infection control/exposure control protocol.
- Identify resources and tools to assist with infection control quality assurance measures.

Ms Turcotte has presented and published articles on dental related topics in several journals. She has recently retired as Professor of Dental Hygiene, Tunxis Community College CT after decades of teaching dental assistant and dental hygiene students. She is the recipient of the prestigious Mabel C. McCarthy award presented by the CT DH Association and the recipient of the ADHA national Teacher of the year award.
